Documentation/Ask

Ask

Ask answers any prospect question in seconds, sourced entirely from your knowledge base.

How it works

Type any question — copy-pasted from an email, a Slack message, or a live call. CoTeam:

  1. Searches your knowledge base for the most relevant content
  2. Drafts an answer grounded in what it finds
  3. Scores its own confidence in that answer
  4. Cites the exact source document

The whole process takes under 10 seconds.

Confidence scoring

Every answer is labeled with one of three confidence tiers:

  • 🟢 High confidence — directly sourced from your knowledge base, with a citation to the exact document. Safe to send as-is.
  • 🟡 Medium confidence — inferred from related content in your knowledge base. Review before sending — CoTeam shows its reasoning and sources.
  • 🔴 Low confidence — no good source found. CoTeam does not guess or fabricate; it flags the gap and tells you exactly what document would answer it.

See Confidence Scoring & Gap Detection for the full detail on how gaps are identified and resolved.

If an answer is pulled from a previously approved correction, it's marked "✓ From approved answer" — a visible sign the flywheel is working on that topic.

What you can do with an answer

  • Copy it directly to paste into an email or chat
  • Save to KB — feed a good answer straight back into your knowledge base with one click, no separate documentation step

Every surface

Ask isn't limited to the dashboard:

SurfaceWhat it's for
Web dashboardFull Ask experience — type a question, get a sourced draft, copy it or save the exchange
Chrome extensionA side panel on any tab — ask without leaving the deal room, the ticket, or the prospect's portal
Forward-to-Answer emailForward a prospect's email to your team's CoTeam address and get a sourced draft back in about 30 seconds

Evaluation limit

During evaluation, Ask is limited to 10 responses. This is enough to feel the product across a real prospect conversation — roughly 3–5 questions per deal, across two deals' worth of evaluation. Knowledge base uploads are never limited, even during evaluation. See Billing & Plans for what happens once you reach the limit and how to upgrade.
